RVD was the one guy everyone knew from ECW as far back as being on RAW in 97. I had a figure of him that I bought on the ECW website even though I'd never actually gotten to see ECW tv. When he came in after the buyout, he was the one ECW wrestler that I immediately wanted to see get a rocket strapped to his back. RVD was always big dimes and you're an actual clueless zoomer.

Most indie shitters and for that matter most wrestlers aren't the shoot athlete that RVD was. He may not have been a shooter per se but he had some great genetics and even Austin said that RVD was the strongest wrestler he ever got in the ring with. Flippy queers of today simply aren't athletes the way RVD was. Look how much muscle he had versus anyone on th AEW roster that's under 6'3". Look at his core muscles and see how much bigger he was. Today's gymnasts simply can't do that.

He's right. RVD was pushed big on television since he was a draw for them. RVD didn't need the heavyweight title. Heyman was using RVD to get over the TV title, and to defend it regularly on television to draw more viewers. RVD held that title for 700 days too. One look at the list of heavyweight champs in ECW should tell you that it was not some barometer for how over, or how important, someone was in ECW.
