DDP had no place in WWF without a character change. they already did his "everyman antihero" schtick better with their top guy.

The bigger problem is that they had nothing interesting to do with WCW guys because none of the major stars took the contract buyout except DDP and booker. It was all kind of doomed from the start.

I just don't think it would have worked. It's not that he was the same character as stone cold. It's that he was the PG version. The most outlandish thing he did was smoke a cigar on the way to the ring. I'm not sure people would have liked him.
