It would honestly have even less chance of working today than it did 10 years ago since present WWE is a nepotism game and if a talent doesn't have a bigger name it can latch onto or isn't already a nostalgic commodity themselves, there is pretty much nothing for them and they are left as afterthoughts.
Absolutely no one can be made in present WWE.
