The Stone Cold character works because it's just Austin turned up to 11. All the great wrestling characters are like that, just take the most aggressive parts of a personality and amplify them. Steve Austin is a redneck in real life so when he is playing redneck characters he seems natural and not acting. I guarantee you he is quite comfortable saying nigger, both sober and drunk.
