Also, ring rust would be a concern as well as getting fat. You'd also exhaust yourself trying to hold on to your connections while you fade further and further in people's memories. By the end of year Triple H is fucking sick of your calls and emails and tired of having to devote bandwidth to some midcarder who's locked down for years when he has to run a whole company full of newer, shinier toys. Eventually there's a tipping point where you gain a reputation for being a whiner and both sides just kind of resent having to hear from you, just for different reasons.
That's why Buddy Murphy and Malakai wised up. It's not ideal for them but becoming valuable to the number two promotion beats the hell out of pouting your way into irrelevancy just because you want to break a contract you gleefully signed months ago and run back to the number one promotion.
I've followed Andrade for awhile and he's not smart, a bit of a loose cannon and not good at politics either. He's still bitching even today because he's too dumb to realize that he's in the doghouse. He's basically saying "Tony I thought you said I was coming back, why aren't you promoting me now". Because he doesn't know how things work and that's precisely why Tony is keeping him on ice until Andrade finally learns to shut the fuck up, humble himself to what he's worth and accept that even when he comes back he will probably be grinding on Dark for a bit until he has Tony's trust again.
