I was going to say I wasn't disappointed with the WTL due to low expectations, but yeah, they dropped the ball here. There's almost as many people missing as there are in the tournament. It still probably wouldn't be great even with those people, but it would be more interesting than this one is. It feels like there's a combination of issues like wanting to placate people, older wrestlers who can't do a full tournament anymore, issues with visa limitations due to covid and trying to use some of the LA Dojo guys. The Super Junior line-up is a little better.

Then there's the usual issues like time constraints and people not being allowed to go all out unless they are in the main event, which leads to lesser matches.

KENTA and ELP should be the new top Bullet Club tag team, they need a team that doesn't have a Chase/Yuge/Fale level jobber on it and both of them work together well. Even the UE is pretty liked right now so a top pure heel tag team really is in order right now for the division.

Honestly, the Japs are gonna love that team up not just because of Archer coming back, not just because of the team of Archer and Suzuki reuniting, but also the fact that they're finally gonna get to see Suzuki having important matches throughout a tour.
It will be a big highlight for them for sure. The team of the two people that get ignored by their respective companies.

Funny that 2/3 of the three top guys in the division don't rely on flips at all and have better psychology and legwork than most modern hws. I see your point though, ELP probably wouldn't have been in the Jr division that long if he didn't so so many flippy/gymnastic spots.
Funny how few Jrs there are in the current YL pipeline. I wonder if they're going to have to poach some people in the near future.

It's easier for them to fill junior slots with talent from other companies, and those talents can lose decisively/often without hurting those feds. Juniors are generally not big names in their respective promotions, and New Japan knows another Liger isn't walking through the door ever again. Hiromu is the biggest name they have, which is why he keeps winning BOSJ, and even they know that juniors can't bring the gates. WTL gets shit on a lot, but they have historically filled the same arenas more during this tour than BOSJ.

What? It's the opposite. They lowered the height and weight requirements precisely so they can get more Juniors because they're probably too low on future Junior stars.
