this, they say WM 17 is the best Mania so i started watching the taws and smackdowns after WM16, planning to watch that whole year up to mania 17, so far i’ve noticed the matches usually aren’t as grand on ringwork, move variety etc, but all the guys are just so cool, fun, and/or badass. even if the average match isn’t a 5 star classic, guys like Angle, big show, too cool, edge, christian, the dudleys, the rock, and more are just non stop entertaining

exactly. And if you go back a little further, you'll see that trend continue. There were guys in the 80's and early 90's who were basically trash in the ring, but no one cared because their character work was so good.
