Fightful was scheduled to interview former NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis on November 7 to promote the company's weekend show, but that isn't happening.
Our talk with Aldis was postponed after he was pulled from the weekend shows after being outspoken about his decision to give notice that he was leaving the NWA on January 1. NWA issued us a statement, saying "Pursuant to the recent comments made by Nick Aldis, the National Wrestling Alliance, has suspended Aldis from the main roster and effective immediately Aldis will not appear for the Hard Times 3 PPV and Revolution Rumble television tapings in New Orleans, LA on Nov. 12, 2022 and Nov. 13, 2022. As such, the National Wrestling Alliance reserves its right to comment on this matter at a future date."
In postponing the interview, Aldis noted that Billy Corgan's disrespect towards Aldis' wife Mickie James in the lead up and following NWA Empowerrr was a huge reason for the relationship between Aldis and NWA souring. It was noted that they've never spoken out about it publicly because of Aldis' spot as a top name in the NWA.
We have heard from several women who have regularly appeared in NWA who also felt disrespected by Corgan and Trevor Murdoch's claims that there wasn't enough depth or enough women that could work the NWA style to do a second Empowerrr show.
Aldis was scheduled to compete for the NWA Worlds Championship at NWA 74, but was replaced with Tyrus.
We're told Aldis will have some media appearances this week to address the matter.
We've asked members of the NWA locker room if the situation is a work, who each said they weren't sure either way.
