AEW is such a bizarre wrestling TV program. Punk never even fit in, which is likely why TK didn't hesitate too much in firing him.
But neither would prime Goldberg, Cena, The Rock, Steve Austin, Batista or Hulk Hogan.
They have simply forcefully created their own little bubble where only The Elite and Jericho fit in.
Nothing is going to change before they are gone. But at that point Tony Khan will probably be a clueless boomer if it is even still on air.
Their lack of willingness to adapt is what will kill AEW.
I would conclude it's better to just watch "Be Elite" on Youtube because then you quickly get an honest glimpse of what AEW is currently all about. It truly is an alternative to WWE, but to first time viewers, I doubt there is anything of substance to latch on to.
Even MJF, Sammy Guevara and Ricky Starks seem out of place most of the time. Not to mention Miro and Claudio Castagnoli...
Watching guys like The Hardys, Pentagon, FTR, Butcher and the Blade, Darby Allin and Sting trying their best to ground this show has become cringe to me.
