>>7892874The world champion can't be everywhere, so promotions have regional titles. Unfortunately, modernization of pro-wrestling has taken away from the purpose of these belts and now they're just "Vice President Championships" essentially. Would be cool if they had hard rules, like the US Title can only be defended against US wrestlers and the Intercontinental Title can only be defended against North and South Americans.
It's why I'm very pro Television Titles, because they have tangible rules about the championship matches being given time limits due to airtime purchased.
