Kek fan conduct. wrestling at its core was/is lowbrow entertainment where the poor income schmucks could afford to attend on a weekend and were allowed to let off some steam by pointing and shouting racial/homophobic/offensive obscenities at the bad guy whilst cheering for the good guy to kick their ass without any repercussions. I went to a house show in ‘96 where a crowd of thousands -men, women and children were chanting “ faggot, faggot, faggot” at Goldust. He played the crowd wonderfully putting his hands over his ears pretending he didn’t like our heckles. When we didn’t stop he got on the mic and said that if we didn’t shut up he was going to get in the crowd and stick his tongue down all of our throats, which of course drew even more heat. That was his plan all along. Without that free reign and unspoken repartee between audience and wrestler we might as well now call pro wrestling scripted acrobatics. The only crowd participation allowed soon we be polite clapping and those stale, redundant , emotionless chants, whilst we all hold up score cards rating the sequences.
