Quick explanation, the studio doesn't get all of the box office, the cinemas take their cut.
And the budget listed is the production budget, doesn't include shit like advertising.
So when you see film made x amount and cost x amount, just know it actually made the studio far less than the amount shown, and cost more than the budget you see.
