doesn't change the fact that only the NWA world title can be traced back to the original world title. That title wasn't tied to any one promotion, and the NWA was created to protect its integrity. Like it or not, everything else is a company title. The ten pounds of gold represents the true and universally recognized world championship.

yes but those are indirect connections. In WWE's case it happened only because they bought WCW, and with Impact it only happened because they partnered with the NWA for a few years. Tracing those belts back to Hackenschmidt's title is tenuous at best.

At least WCW and TNA actually had a partnership with the NWA, whereas WWE just absorbed a fed that had partnered with the NWA for a few years. In other words, it was a bullshit corporate carny trick in all these cases. WCW, ECW, TNA, and numerous others did this same thing: Partner with the NWA just long enough to try and steal their history.

No the Roots of the WWE championship being tied to the NWA go back to before WCW existed. When all the territories broke off at the same time in the 60’s. The WCW belt being folded in has no real impact because of What Flair did in the early 90’s. Then of course the current NWA belt really has no ties to the lineage of the NWA let alone the pre-NWA Havkenschmidt world title. Between Shane Douglas throwing it down, between the partnership with TNA, the multiple bankruptcies, it really is devoid of any connection with the past. They should do what boxing does and acknowledge the importance of being Lineal Champion, which weirdly Roman Reigns actually is. There was an unbroken Chain from Hackenschmidt all the way to Edge in 2010 and when he sawdusted there was no Claim the the Lineal title for a decade. Randy pinned him in 2020 and saved the legacy and currently Roman has United it with the WWE/Universal Championship which is fucking kind of crazy. Weird fact, Ric Flair is a 16x World Champion and has never been apart of the Lineal line of the belt.

you're full of shit. You didn't even explain how the WWE connection supposedly existed before the WCW purchase. The WWWF was part of the NWA for awhile but they never unified their main title with the NWA title. So NO, that lineage was not the same. Flair taking the big gold belt with him to WWF as a prop does not represent a unification of the lineage either. Shane Douglas disrespecting rhe belt and the TNA partnership also do not change the facts. The NWA was created to maintain the integrity of the original Hackenschmidt title, and that is a fact. Before they came along you had multiple people claiming the title, which hurt the business. You are obviously trying very hard to connect WWE to a history that doesn't belong to them and never will. Corgan isn't the best, but the NWA world title is the only DIRECT descendant of the original belt. All the other supposed descendants are just company titles with an indirect connection. No corporate backstabbing can ever change that fact.
