Murdering peaceful protestors and flooding the capitol with tens of thousands of soldiers while your sworn enemy refuses a coup that's literally handed to him (making him the first president to voluntarily give up power since Washington) looks bad. It's easy to get a head start and force-meme the nonsensical narrative that it's actually the protestors and president who were anti-democracy. It doesn't make sense to us. But there's a reason they're in power and we're not.
