Last I heard it was "no further plans with AEW". Still, even with botch and all, it was a nice gesture to let him on the show after being dragged into it by Phil. I'm sticking my guns on that. Obviously it was an overreach to get a title shot but well, at least he got a mediocre exit and bit of a middle finger to Punk "replacing" him on the show for a night. it was your call Phil.

Seems like a pyrrhic victory cause it also more or less confirmed that Tony was scared of Punk that he almost fired an employee who did nothing wrong just to appease him.
