The guy is two years shy of his 40s and multiple windows are starting to close for him that he can't possibly get back being in AEW. He and Hangman were already the best Tag Champs, Kenny has the longest single reign as AEW World Champion, and he's way to qualified to even sniff at the lower card belts (you could make an argument for the All-Atlantic title but still). He has nothing to gain from staying in Tony's toy chest, especially after the Punk shit. It's clear his body is catching up to him after 20+ years and he needs to start thinking with that in mind. No need to dilute match quality though, just sign with the place that's going to pay for all your medical bills.
