Second, it was a way for wrestlers without training to find bookings. In the 90's, wrestling schools were a scam. You needed to sell your house and offer yours wife's pussy just to get legit wrestling training. Deathmatch wrestling became the punk rock alternative because we were saying fuck you to these carny wrestling schools, and packing bigger houses than them with a bunch of no name guys with no training.
