I can smell the cornette influence in these points.
This might be difficult to understand to some but guys like Jericho are famous for being famous and singing along, getting welcomed by the crowd doesn't matter if you can be a cheating heel bastard during the match and/or at the end of it look like you are the heel and do it consistently.
It doesn't matter for Reigns either, he's over like a balloon despite being a cheater.

Cody in AEW was a wrestler that desperately clung on to his eternal face gimmick that creates heat when it doesn't actually go over in the setting he is in, and he took no time off to be let audiences miss him enough to welcome him as a returning hero/face.
Everyone wanted SOMETHING new out of him, something else than the politician giving babys hugs and parading his wife, dog, kids. For going heel, with so much natural heat he was in the perfect position to go heel even for just one program with a redemption arc following it...I don't know, get into argument over Brandi and lose his shit and when he loses do a "I was wrong, you fought valiantly made me a better man blaa blaa blaa, lets be friends again" - bullshit angle. He could have lift up some younger babyface in it but he chose to keep going against heels like Andrade and Sammy with equal heat.
Cody could win over most crowds while working or promo by the end of it so nobody thought he won undeservedly but every new stadium it was "not this shit again" from the crowd when his music started playing. When you are a too good of a baby face, in this age, you gotta hit homeruns everytime start to finish or have the audience turn on you for being predicatable and boring. It's the age of heelish champs.

WWE is good right now but it would be even better if Seth Rollins acted serious as a babyface and didn't just retain his shitty heel "Visionary" gimmick.
