Most of the below applies to women's wrestling; I haven't watched much Joshi, but I've tried. I find Stardom fucking boring as fuck, and while TJPW wrestlers are green as hell, they at least have a semblance of character besides "Imma pose in a fighting stance and look non-threatening." Joshi DOES have some people that aren't cardboard cutouts, but man do they feel rare.
I hate how they can never get through a match without that "oh wow, look at the history we're making" acknowledgement.
I hate how every match ends with them crying, because of the history they made, even if they hate each other.
I hate how a lot of entrances have crying, because oh my god, you guys, look at what I'm doing right now. Validate me!
I hate how many of them are marks for themselves and feel like they need to bring [b:lit]more[/b:lit] attention to themselves with things that betray their character, like Jade or Sascha's stupid cosplay gear. And yes, I hate when the male wrestlers do this too.
I hate that I have to pretend like it's as good as male matches, or that their promos are just as good, when they really, really aren't.
