It's easier to cover up if something is wrong in a multi-man match. You have the action focus on the outside of the ring while they get the injured wrestler to safety, or worst case scenario you call an ad break - it's a fucking television show. Joey Mercury's fucking face exploded in a match once and they got him out of the way and continued the match.
