I think it buys Tony a lot of good will and PR to be able to say he let an old man do what he wants. It's not like Regal is some big name, so Dynamite isn't going to gain or lose any viewers because of this

That's not actually what was said. The wording was that there are "people in WWE" who "believe" that. These are the same people who "believed" Malakai Black had been released after All Out, so take it with a grain of salt.
