He’s basically Kurt Angle.

Inside the wwe where he got clear direction and had super talented road agents to help with his matches he came off like the goat. Outside wwe where he was considered a veteran and got to call all his matches he was basically an indie guy with a death wish. And his Japanese work is unwatchable.

Kenny in new Japan got clear directions and worked mostly with the best. In AEW he’s the shot caller and his instincts are dog shit.

AEW became a minor success despite Omegay and is failing now that he is one of the only attractions. Also none of that shit was kino, his title run was drawing shows in the 700ks and he needed Punk and Bryan to get the few millys he was able to obtain.

Part of the story of the match is that Kenny is desperate and losing his grip because he's struggling to beat Christian, so his movements are frenetic and panicked. He had tried to avoid having this match before it took place because inside he secretly knew he couldn't compete with Christian.
