Really happy about it too. Both him and Kidd are great, even though they still have some Young Lion awkwardness that'll inevitably need shaving off, it's so great to finally have some new (young) faces in the ring. And I don't think even half of the Young Lions are back yet!

Looking at my webms, I sort of doubt it. I've watched (and webm'd!) pretty much every NJPW match bar some undercard tags since his heel turn, and I'm a huge mark for this move. I don't think I would've skipped over every one.

I don't know. I was under the impression he wasn't, Chris even said something to that effect in the LA Dojo vs. Japan Dojo at Historic X-Over. In his words, Knight is "towards the end of that [graduating] process" so maybe now he is, or counts as that? But I don't think there's been a statement.

This match was a good surprise. GLEAT's women's matches have been a very mixed bag for me, but this one was great. Probably my favorite LIDET match of the entire night. Incredibly simple story, but it's done very well.

The camera doesn't quite catch it with Fukuda in the way, but there's a Kong vs. Hotta-tier palm strike at around the one second-mark. They're both swollen and bruised up after the match. It's good shit.

I remember watching this one match from this show given that it was what went up on NJPWWorld with SHO's involvement. Watching it back now, especially being more familiar with shoot style, this isn't the best match to watch from the show. Both other LIDET singles matches are better, and so are the pro-wrestling matches on the same card. This isn't the match I'd recommend as anyone's first LIDET match, or as their first GLEAT match. It's not the first Ito or SHO match I'd recommend either.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I also don't think the height thing is a huge detriment. The Jr division is thin as is so I'm happy with him there.
He has gotten a lot more fun as he's gotten more comfortable in Japan. I wasn't fully convinced when he returned but everything after the Taguchi match in BOSJ has been great.

I knew absolutely zero about Yoshimura before this match. I was just going to watch the finals originally since I wanted to see more of Higuchi, but was drawn in by Akiyama since I've seen basically zero of his work from the past decade, so I decied to watch this semifinals as well. I like this guy a lot now, from the two matches I've seen.

These two are very talented. For all the shit people give it DDT continues to produce the best wrestlers currently rising up. Both of these dudes are really good, then you have names like Omega, Ibushi, and Takeshita. I'm considering beginning a dive on the promotion to see more, though I know there's a large percentage of fluff and chuckle-ha-ha matches that may or may not be worth it.

Skip the lower card. Usually midcard up for DDT tends to be serious enough. Really I've been pleased with CyberFight. NOAH is on an upswing and DDT is criminally underrated.

I don't really have an interest in their undercards at all, nor would I have the time to follow another promotion, but what I have caught from their main event/title scene has been pretty fuckin' great. Higuchi vs. Sakaguchi from a couple of months back is certainly in my top 10 matches this year.
I know they just had their "G1" going on right now, and I figure that's a good start. I'll definitely watch the finals of it, and then see if I can get some recommendations for what to go back for from the tournament itself. I have some matches I know I'm interested in, but I'm very unfamiliar with the roster as a whole.

O-Khan definitely has. I was sure I had a webm of it, but I don't. O-Khan, Higuchi all do claws and I'm fairly certain 2/3 do STOs just based on their in-ring style.

I think it's more common than STOs, at least in current NJPW, actually. Goto does it in a tag combo, Chase and Yano both use it, and I think it's in the "allowed Young Lion moveset" as well. I know there's other guys but those are the ones I know for sure do it.

Alright, that's all I've got for this week. Got caught up in a movie so I apologize about these final few webms being slow. Thank you all for hanging out!
For next week, I'll try to get at least parts of the DDT tournament done, as well as the usual NJPW stuff.
