Seeing one's friend hit by a devastating blow to the face due to one's own incompetence would prompts some emotional reaction, whether that's showing concern for the comrade or attacking the man who did it to him or even bemoaning one's owns shortcomings or getting into an argument with your own brother. Instead both of them casually step over their fallen friend and their fallen foe to get into the next position. It's a bad transition and bad storytelling.
