We are currently in the 3rd iteration of the idea of Damage CTRL. According to Dakota Kai on the "Getting Over" podcast:
>Bayley and Dakota were in talks with Vince YEARS ago to debut this stable with Bayley, Dakota, Tegan and Candice as the original team
>it was turned down by Vince
>earlier this year (2022) they were in talks with Vince again to debut a version of this stable with Dakota Kai, Io Shirai now known as IYO SKY, KLR now known as Alba Fyre and Raquel Gonzalez as the stable
>this version of the stable was VERY close to debuting according to Dakota
>WWE even recorded introductory videos for them and they had group photos taken
>this lines up with Dakota, Iyo and Raquel getting Smackdown dark matches earlier this year
>it was however scrapped at the very last minute
>Iyo would then suffer a terrible injury during Stand and Deliver leaving her out of action for months, Dakota would proceed to get fired and Raquel would get called up shortly afterwards
>then Vince retires, HHH takes over and the rest is history
