Chris Jericho was the CM Punk of his decade. You are severely underestimating how difficult and rare it is for a guy to take a mic, sound completely natural with it, hit all different kinds of beats and never miss a beat. Darby is a superb performance artist. He just needs to be given good stories he needs to tell in the ring and he'll make it happen.
He could make a completely mute feud between him and Hook look dimes from start to finish. He's got great sense of costume and pantomime that shines through in his wrestling.
