Hollywood really, really, really wants Dwayne to be a big star, regardless of what the public thinks.
They're going to keep constantly running propaganda worshiping him and pretending he's a gigastar until the consoomers believe it and it comes true. Well they have failed, the rock, ironically, lacks the charisma that stars like Stallone or even Schwarzenegger have, he just comes off as bland or trying to hard in everyone of his movies/series.

Forgettable movies. None of the charisma he showed in wrestling ever translated to the big screen and it has probably long been hammered out of his personality by public relations handlers by now. Can't really act beyond standing there menacingly. All of his characters are the same sweaty slow-talking boring fuck in every movie. He has no iconic characters like Stallone and or Arnold. American media is also very intent on forcing him and it reeks of astroturfing, and that's not a good look in an era where even normies are more aware of things like astroturfing and other ways to manipulate public opinion.

Literally only allowed in Hollywood to take advantage of the "IT'S JOHN CENAAAA" meme's popularity, which has long already met its expiration date. At least has more range than Dwayne but that still doesn't make Cena any sort of draw. I think he could have been a bigger star if he went to movies back before he aged, because women loved that motherfucker.

It did once, when he played a coked out 90s heel in Pain and Gain. In the other good movie he's been in, Fast 5 has him play a tweener. Rock's too much of a mark for hinself now, and is only willing to play babyfaces.
Cena's strength is that he's got good comedic timing. Best part of Trainwreck, awful in Bumblebee.

The Rock's appeal is that plays to the audience with catchphrases and talks mad shit. Firstly, that doesn't work without a crowd to react to him. Secondly, his movie characters are not written anything like how prime Rock acted, so it would never manifest on screen. Instead you just get this boring plodding guy that tries to sound calm but imposing like every other Hollywood tough guy.
As for Cena, he hasn't been charismatic even in a pro wrestling context since he stopped rapping so lol

Of course him looking like the fucking Hulk doesn't help open up roles to him. Back then his body was much more normal and not freakish so he could slide into other roles.

Dwayne Johnson entire movie career has been coasting off being the rock and alot of that good will has worn off. I watched jungle cruise and the highlight of it was him suplexing a cgi leopard. Just have him do more wrestling moves and his films would be much better received.

Average people (including AE fans) found Cena to be extremely cringy as a wrestler. When they were booing Cena, that was them warning Vince that he was NOT the new Austin or Hogan. But single moms bought the jerseys and it was the preliminary woke era when companies started feeling entitled to make decisions without having to consider the customer, so you just got lectures about booing and cheering the wrong people instead of turning him heel and trying someone else as top face (not that it would have fixed the problem of Stephanie's writers).

I think that The Rock could be a decent Mister T-type figure if he always played The Rock on screen, going full ham 24/7. Of course, the problem is that WWE owns that character.
