But that doesn't mean he has no place left in wrestling anymore.
Plenty of other spots on the card, plenty of other ways to entertain the fans, even in a very hardcore workrate fed. (See: Toru Yano)

he has all the tools, the pedigree, but his gimmick, while "totally him", which he has gotten 'over' to a degree, has limited appeal with the audience, in its current presentation.

un-ironically, Vince might have "got" Dalton Castle, Vince's sense of humor would have probably worked with him

He was pretty hot when he first showed up in ROH then they waited WAY TOO LONG to really get behind him and then he fucked his back. Plus this was the peak of the Cody/Bucks ROH run.

And what's the difference between this act and Golddust? It's entertaining. Dalton puts on a show and makes fun of himself. This isn't like the Sonny Kiss crap in AEW where Sonny thinks he needs to be worshiped just because he's a fag. The entrance is entertaining. Dalton works the crowd. He's solid in the ring. It's a good act. By itself, maybe not, but I enjoyed the dynamic between him and Jericho. Jericho's used to being the most entertaining guy around with the comedy "wizard," stuff, but Dalton upstaged him and made him be more serious. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do to book Dalton, Khan wouldn't be able to book him right, but it's a great act nonetheless.
