What's the point of doing a weigh in if she's immediately going to go and change her weight by having a glass of water and a meal? The weigh in should be done as the fighter is entering the cage, if they don't make weight right there and then they forfeit the fight.

You're not weighing the food in their belly or the farts in their ass but their body mass. You can't weigh people before they get into the ring because the whole point of the weigh in is deciding if they are allowed to go in the ring before they are there because you don't want to reschedule the whole night after everyone's done their entry.

The embarrassment plus a big fine will prevent fighters from fucking around. Just stand on a set of scales and make sure you don't go over the weight limit, it's not hard.

Not at ONE. They had a fighter die because of that and since then they make their fighter compete at their walk around weight and monitor them closely throughout their training camps just to make sure they aren't doing anything crazy to cut weight.
