Everyone puts out a flop every now and then, it is impossible not to with a career like that.
>The adventures of Pluto Nash - Eddie Murphy On a $100M budget, this managed to bring in $7M. A net loss of >$90M, but Eddie Murphy continues to act and do ok. Coming to America 2 was a critical and financial success.
>Battlefield Earth - John Travolta On a $73M budget it grossed $29M. It is also considered one of the worst films of all time. But John Travolta still acts (Note: Career on hold due to death in the family, but says he will return to acting) and is still acts. He had success with Swordfish, Bolt, and Hairspray.
My point is, every big name will have a flop. Black Adam simply entered an overcrowded super hero movie genre in a time when the audience is saturated with them. Super hero movies are just westerns for millenials, and like westerns, they will eventually die out. Halley Barry recovered after catwoman, and Dwane will recover after Black Adam.
