While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Chris Jericho losing to Action Andretti. During the discussion, Meltzer revealed that AEW had huge plans for Jungle Boy to defeat Chris Jericho at one point in time. He was going to do something similar with Jungle Boy, but he didn’t want to do it with no crowds. By the time the crowd came back, the whole dynamic had changed and he was in different places and it just didn’t fit it. To do it now, he could have done it with Jungle Boy, Takeshita and others. The thing on those is, in all three cases, people watching the match, in the back of their heads would go, ‘maybe he’s gonna do it.’ If those guys would’ve won, it would’ve big been for them to win but it wouldn’t have been as big a talking point.

>>8294034 What the fuck is his hairline's problem? Makes him look like he's wearing a wig that's falling off.

>>8294086 He was briefly over in the AEW early days with women and zoomers and that is a tough wrestling demographic

Remember when Jericho "Put over" Jungle Boy by having a 10(15?) minute time limit match with him that went the full length? Everyone claimed that was his star making moment and here we are 3 years later.

>>8294113 I've genuinely lost count of the amount of times AEW fans have claimed some guy had his star making career changing moment only for everyone to forget about it by next week. Like, I've seen actual people (outside of here) claim that QT Marshall vs Cody Rhodes was our generation's Bret Hart vs Steve Austin

He's back on Dark already and nobody cares. Nothing that happens with Jericho matters anymore, he was hot shit when AEW started, now it's just accepted he's in neverending feuds trading wins and losses.

It's because he fast-forwards through shit he's made his mind up about. Case in point: he didn't know Cody used the same theme in AEW as WWE, and was marking out at the "royal family" line when Cody debuted at WM. He barely watches anything, then gives a review.
