i was looking forward to watching it since it was announced. i watched only a few minutes and closed it. it was sloppy as fuck. regurgitated clips, poorly researched, no new info at all. basically an attempt by Vice to quickly cash in on the recent Vince news. i couldn't believe it was from the same folks who did DSOTR but maybe that show wasn't as good as i remembered. or they lost their touch. i probably will avoid future Vice programming. they rush stuff out without caring about the quality.

The documentary was not done by the creators of Dark Side (Jason Eisener and Evan Husney). Without digging too deep, it's clearly just a cash grab by Vice who wanted more programming while doing minimal work. Without exaggeration, the show is 85% recycled clips of Dark Side of the Ring with the other 15% being interviews with Bryan Alvarez, Dave Meltzer, Vince Russo, Brian Solomon, and that one bald guy.

It is not even a well-edited clip show for those who haven't watched Dark Side. The clips they match up with the narration are highly inconsistent. They'll be talking about WWE's IPO and entry to the stock market while playing clips from 2003. The timeline does not flow smoothly at all. This is an embarrassing piece of work that clearly wasn't audited by anyone who knows wrestling.

It’s not solely because of cable cutting. Raw debuted low, went high, they declined faster than cable cutting from approximately 2005 on.

Look at Dynamite…started high, and three years later they’ve lost 500k viewers and over 60% of the 18-49 demo from the debut. NJPW/Impact have almost no one watching their shows.

The industry is dying. 51-60 year old viewers age out and they aren’t attracting younger viewers.

i used to have the mr. mcmahon dvd (2006) and that was a great documentary. they expose so much shit, i can't believe vince was crazy enough to allow it to be released.
i can't find it online anywhere. it was on youtube like 10 years ago.

One of my favorite DVDs I've ever owned. I remember buying this for the extras/matches that were included like Vince vs Shane: WM 17, Austin vs Vince in 99, Vince vs Taker - SS03, and even Vince vs Stephanie at NM03 kek

The Thanksgiving NFL games had the highest TV ratings they ever had last month. Myself and tons of other wresting fans I know that stopped watching a decade ago would love nothing more than to watch 2 hours of WWE every Monday night. But it fucking sucks.
