In hindsight, was the win/loss rankings system doomed from the start? Is there anyway it could have worked?

All this does is corner the booker and matchmaking suffers . Dark especially confused things and made this thing utterly retarded. Also in wrestling rematches always draw and with this system you couldn’t do it.

It was a way to get people to trust the booking and to establish the idea of a hierarchy and prevent people from waltzing into title shots ahead of the regular roster. There's nothing wrong with that idea in principle, but obvious the rankings introduces all kinds of other logical holes that people loved to rip apart so I'm not surprised it was de-emphasized
