The year AEW really got tested hard to see if they'll sink or swim, and they were able to swim.

Alot of issues, injuries, backstage bullshit and more happened but since Full Gear AEW has really been feeling extremely hot again, as someone who thought AEW was fine during the summer/autumn but not as good, I think they've ended 2022 on a very strong note.

Last year was definitely better than this year. The roster became way too bloated early on in the year and the way the Punk drama was handled killed tons of momentum.

2/10. Horrible booking, people losing their heat left and right, top stars vanishing from TV for no reason, stop and start pushes, awful storytelling, and the loss of CM Punk. A string of decent episodes at the tale end of 2022 can't make up for the mountain of bad shit. 2023 is going to be make or break for AEW and I have no faith in Tony "Captain Retard" Khan to make it.

I've never seen a minute of it besides webms; going off pure board posts, it seems to have gone sour, especially after the Punk fiasco. I am grateful for AEW being around though, it's given alot of perspective of how a smooth machine like WWE can be, albeit, horrible writing, but such can be sad for every major player in their industry (Disney, capeshit, etc) no one is really putting out gold.

Tony was on autopilot for most of the year, the ROH stuff took up way too much time and didn't really work. Since Full Gear it actually feels like Tony cares again and is actually putting thought into the shows.

Dynamite occasionally dips down to 700k and it gets the increasingly rare milly but 900k to 800k is its default state. That's been its default state for its entire existence. It grew for a hot minute when Punk was there but now he's gone and the growth is dead. Talking about YoY is extremely disingenuous when AEW is back to square one and you know it.
