They turned them down because Tony Khan came along and gave them a better offer, being EVP's of their own company, creative control, big money deal and being the stars of the promotion named after them is a much bigger deal than signing the mark contract (which they knew could still come later)

Why? How would Kenny be some great loss? He doesn't do anything important at AEW. All he does is wrestle 2.5 star matches and cut mediocre promos in his goofy voice. He hasn't had a prominent storyline since the Belt Collector gimmick ages ago and that was underwhelming as fuck. Since he came back the most notable thing he's done is making funny faces after sawdusting his own ass on a table spot. Kenny could leave tomorrow and most viewers wouldn't even notice. If he can work Triple H into thinking he's a big deal then more power to him, he should go to WWE as soon as possible, hope the door doesn't hit him on his way out.
