It's a cut throat business with little room at the top and unless you're one of those old mega stars that fly in two times a year because they've spent decades building their brand you have to be wrestling in front of the crowd three times a week and you have to be on TV every week or the public will forget about you. It's the same as twitch streamers in that regard where taking two weeks off will cut your viewership down to 50% and they are never coming back because they've moved on somewhere else and have found the next guy to project on. This is also why AEW struggles to create stars. You have to put these people on TV once a week, have them wrestle whenever they can and if they are too injured have them cut a promo.
