The media and sports leagues are one and the same and they do not want any new leagues popping up challenging the status quo.

Just see the XFL and USFL. These leagues were on some of their stations and they still wouldn't give it any coverage at all because they don't really want it to succeed and jeopardize their relationship with the NFL.

It's 2023. TV is practically dead. WWE Network already exists. Saudis can just introduce a tiered payment options with one that includes Raw and Smackdown. Sure it's less money but they clearly don't care.

The deal was only for USA. The Network is still working fine but restricted to outside the reach of NBC. The deal with NBC is only for a set number of years and the Saudis could buy out of it if they wanted.

The lack of TV deal for LIV wasn’t so much about it being Saudi owned. Tons of shit in America is Saudi owned. TV networks just didn’t want to piss off the PGA because it draws mega-dimes from advertisers. Next time a PGA event is on tv, tune in just to see the commercials. It’s all Rolex, luxury cars, etc. Tennis is the same way.
