>>8549426>-SRS believes it would be hard for WWE to get a rights deal based on how the LIV golf negotiations went>-SRS believes Fox and USA “won’t be keen on” renewing TV deals if this deal happensAt the risk of coming of as a shill, I think people using this line of thinking to say they won't get a TV deal are missing the forest from the trees. The fact that it's a Saudi project is one negative, but the reason gives a shit about is that no network is going to be interested in forking over big money for anything other than the establishment product. It doesn't matter that the Saudi's forked over big money for "big name golfers", just look at what happened to the original USFL or any of the other MMA promotions that try to get big signing UFC washouts.
This isn't the case with WWE. Even after all the decline and hate for pro wrestling, it's still the establishment product. If someone sees you watching AEW, they're still gonna goof on you for watching "that gay ass WWF shit". You see pro wrestling, you think of WWE. It doesn't matter how bad your VDS, they are the standard.
It'll be a "headache" for the networks, but unless they're willing to take the gamble on AEW or completely scrap wrestling from television altogether and replace it with cheap re-runs or new content (which no one is doing), they'll be at the table because they're all lazy hypocrites. The money per year will go down, but after this sale I don't think they give a fuck.
