Pretty much this. Kenny had the most aura out of any champion and imo AEW felt like he could get into anyone's business. MJF has that feeling but lacks the aura. And if Hangman was the Hangman we got in the second half of his reign from the beginning, I bet he'd have had that feeling too instead of feeling passive.

Jericho's best work in AEW has been since he dropped the world title. I'd argue that his ROH title reign was actually better than his AEW title reign. Kenny and Mox have both had better AEW title reigns than him (I rank Mox's first reign behind Jericho's only because it got completely fucked over by the coof and empty arenas).

Hangman's reign was fucked before it ever began. The choice to push back his win over Kenny by three months killed a lot of his heat, and also messed up the timing relative to the Punk, Cole, and Danielson debuts. Also, it seems like after having planned out Hangman winning the title for like two years, Tony Khan had no solid plans for what to do with him once he won the title. So he suddenly found himself with a new champion who had kind of missed his ideal moment, with no solid roadmap for his title reign, and three new main-event tier guys who were all more over than the champ, two of them babyfaces and the other a heel for whom they were already teasing an eventual face-turn (the were playing up the whole "Adam doesn't remember the Bucks murdered him" angle on BTE), all of whom needed storylines. It was a guaranteed clusterfuck.

The Jericho title reign was plagued with inner circle horseshit. He beat Kenny and hangman clean to win the title, why the fuck did he suddenly need a stable after that?
Moxley just fucking sucks period. Omegas reign was full of garbage like the moxley sparkler match, the god awful triple threat, and the pisstian feud. Hangman should have probably lost on his first defense, it would have worked with his character, but instead we had to suffer through the world title being midcard status for 6 months. Mjf should do some more title defenses, I can’t believe they intend on waiting until march. But his promos have been alright, that’s a major plus over all the other guys that have been world champ. But yea, Cody should have gotten a reign. The best title reign in aew was Cody’s tnt title. That being said, Cody is a vaxxtard and an n-lover
