I'm on the fence about ol' Jables.
I remember when he started, not as far back as when he was Justin Hawk, but when he was just off of the New Blackjacks gimmick with the big mustache and the chaps and cowboy stuff, you know? Then he tagged with Farooq what seemed like forever, first with The Acolytes and then with the APA. After that there was this long lull in his career until he came in as JBL and started on that year long title reign with nothing but shenanigans for defenses. Definitely a rags to riches story.
Then you hear shit about him beating up Meanie, being a bullying asshole to several people, the whole Nazi salute shit in Germany, how fucking drunk he was at One Night Stand and all the stories and it really sours you on him. And then you read his book and how he eloquently and succinctly summarizes what being a heel bad guy wrestler really is and what he does to make an entire audience hate him. And then you hear of his stock market expertise and how he bet Vince that he could make him money on the stock market and when he did and followed through on that bet, Vince gave him a run with the belt. After he retired he does the whole commentary thing and switching between telling Cole either to shut up or point out how someone's just having fun, Maggle.
So he's a mixed bag; I can't decide whether or not I like or hate him.
