By the time Jay had become ROH world champion in 2013, ROH was already a forgotten promotion. Most of the OGs and big names had left, NJPW was the new FOTM fed for the workrate smarks, and Cornette pissed a lot of ROH faithfuls off. Nobody was watching his reign but he still made the most of it and carried the promotion during this time with 2nd rate talents lile Adam Cole, Elgin, Ciampa,and even fucking Matt Hardy and Mike Bennett. His promos were enough to make me latch on to his words and character and that was enough to make me watch what he was involved in. It all felt real when watching Jay Briscoe. RIP my nigga you deserved better and thanks for the memories
