WCW was doing okay and would probably still be around without the merger, which was practically corporate sabotage and the only way Vince could win, (have a friend shut down WCW from above). If you want to blame a wrestler for WCW losing, it's a verifiable fact that GOLDBERG killed WCW. He ran off Jericho, Raven, Benoit, Guerrero and friends (the heart of the midcard, which Goldberg trashed on the way up), squashed every credible star in order to get over, even fan favorites like Sting and DDP. Then when thrust in the main event, injured himself and others like the clumsy goof he was, killing all possible angles with him, and drawing no interest in PPVs with a guy who can't wrestle more than 5 minutes without gassing himself, and hurting him and the opponent, while not being able to boost sales with promos cause he sounded like a dweeb and came off as a poor man's Stone Cold, who fans were already sick before his streak ever ended. These are indisputable and undeniable facts.
