You are allowed to wind up all the way and basically hit the other guy with a free haymaker where he is not allowed to get up any kind of guard or anything. Open hand or not anyone with a half assed amount of training is going to be able to drop you with that kind of setup. If you are allowed to go first it's basically a lock that you are going to win, even if you don't outright KO the other guy he will be concussed to shit and you will be up one hit for the entire exchange. He will have to eat two free shots on the button before he can hit you twice, etc etc
