Hiroshi Tanahashi (46) announced today on his blog that he has renewed his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and will continue to fight on the cerulean blue for the foreseeable future.
>After graduating from Ritsumeikan University's College of Law, Tanahashi joined Shinnichi in 1999. From 2011 to 2012, when he was the 56th IWGP Heavyweight Champion, he made the record for the most consecutive defenses (at the time), V11. He won the New Japan Cup twice in 2005 and 2008. He has won the Pro Wrestling Grand Prize MVP award four times, in '09, '11, '14, and '18, and is the reigning ace of Shinnichi.
