In fact I'd probably even take him over both Rock and Austin too due to his fantastic workrate/drive to want to succeed. What was good about his character is you at least had other faces to look forward to rather than the constant super man era shit we got with Cena and the cartoon villains trying to stop him. Haitch gave us more mature realistic stories of underdog faces trying to put a stop to his reign of terror.
Without Haitch Benoit would have never looked so good. So overall I agree with OP he was the actual best part of the AE for the company itself. Rock and Austin were entirely products of the AE itself. Once that went away they both kind of went away to. Haitch kept the ship going as much as he could.
