I would have been pissed if stone cold lost to lesnar on raw or even at a ppv desu but I probably wouldn’t have watched the ppv so I wouldn’t have cared as much

I’ve always had a theory that Vince actually hated Austin. Austin is pretty much everything Vince hates about wrestling. A loud mouth southerner with a very ordinary look and not a lot of personality (obviously Austin has personality but it’s not over the top like the Rock or the New Day).

It just always made sense to me and would explain a lot of Austin’s booking post 1999.

This is absurd levels of cope and seethe from smarks. Brock was so tough that he made the Hulkster pass out, a guy who never gives up. The only other rub he ever gave to a guy like that was Kurt Angle, where he actually tapped. Kurt could say he beat Hogan in a sanctioned match, but Brock can say he demolished Hogan

I think it's different for Hogan and Austin because Hogan was on top so fucking long he could never be buried, only usurped. So guys on pump and dump pushes like Goldberg or Lesnar that weren't going to stay around weren't a threat to his long term position. But Austin had seen guys who had been super over household names for only a few years like him end up jobbing on Heat.

Austin was the Wrestler of the Year in 2001, and yet by 2002, they were trying to job him out to a rookie with absolutely no build. It made no sense, and Austin was completely right. He also suspected that Triple H politicking was behind it (probably right there, too).

Incidentally, Hogan only did the job because he expected to get his win back later. When it became clear that wasn't happening, he and Vince fell out (again).

Austin should have been the one to put Brock over at Summerslam instead of Dwaynetty. Austin losing clean to an F5 would have meant a lot more instead of Rock who had already done a ton of jobs in 2002, and Brock would have stayed heel because the fans weren't sick of Austin like they were Rocky.

Because of what you said. It was on Smackdown, not a PPV, and the finish was a fucking bear hug. That doesn't make Lesnar look like a monster, it makes Hogan look like a self-mark choad.
Lesnar is a shoot wrestler who can shoot pin anybody in the business, and Hogan sill won't lay down.

As for Lesnar, he is literally one of the only active wrestlers today that is a draw. And Lesnar will forever be dimes incarnate for squashing that pissant Kofi in a 8 seconds.

Hogan put him over like a million dollars. Brock kicked out of the legdrop, interrupted the finish sequence twice and then KO'd him with a bearhug which nobody has won a match with since the 80s. Kids at school who knew it was a work were still talking about it like Bork went into business for himself because he hit his finisher and then went for the bearhug instead of a pin. You couldn't put the guy over any stronger than that
