>>8660558nah that was a good move, needed a piss break inbetween
a palate cleaner, like pickled ginger in between sushi pieces
this is the one thng that american wreslting does better than njpw
njpw puts the matches in order of importance, so the cards are really top heavy
sometimes you really need a breather in between epics, a different vibe
like a women bout or a tag team or multiman bout, esp between cruiserweights/luchas
or a zany segment, something njpw doesnt have
it's hard to go from 1-on-1 epic to an even better 1-on-1 epic to an even better 1-on-1 epic
you need time to digest them otherwse they start melding into one another and the later matches loses their impact
go back to wk 11 and dominion of that year
i can't watch naito-tana and then okada-omega back to back
theyre too intense
which is why i take so long to watch npw events, ill go and do somethign else in betwee for a couple of hours, maybe even drag in on across days
(of course it ended up not mattering in this case because jericho-hhh was heatless dogshit compared to rock-hogan, but no one knew how huge tha gap would be until it happened. still a good dea to put a palate cleanser in between)
wwf used to be even better about it in the 90s desu, when they had 2 really good matches they would woudl put the one that wasnt gonna main event way further back, right in the middle of the card, and it brought a really nice pace to the ppv, those are some of the best ppvs desu. examples
>savage-warrior @ wm 7>flair-savage @ wm 8>yoko-hogan @ kotr 93>hhh-austin @ nwo 01wm 10 also ended up being spaced out quite nicely, a banger to open, the first title match in the middle of the card, the cathartic 2nd title match obviously at the end. and even though the awesome ladder match was right before the main event, it was such a different match with a different vibe to what would follow that it was a nice contrast in styles, they didnt step on each others toes
