yeah that would have been too late. first half of 2021 with the return to touring was the golden time for big established names to sign with AEW. Couldn't imagine Sami or KO hitting Tony with as firm of a no if their contracts came up a few months earlier, but the timing was just so fucked that far into the Punk/Bryan/hiring all of NXT and ROH era, and their decisions ended up being right lol.
