He lost his role as head of creative in late 1999 though, but if you had watched WCW at all in 1999, you would understand why the execs wanted a change. Of course they brought in Russo and things got even worse, but Bischoff stayed and was still a writer working with Russo. Bischoff did stop appearing on TV sometimes in 2000 though, but he was still working behind the scenes until the bitter end.
