WBD never banned the Briscoes

No.8679442 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
>A source close to the situation backstage has stated that there was never a ban on the Briscoes appearing on AEW TV. Knowing the execs would not go out of their way to deny it, Tony has used that excuse to cover not wanting them a part of AEW and reserving them for the ROH revival.

>Given the past controversies surrounding Darby Allin, Nick Gage, Jay Lethal, Tazz and Sammy Guervara, amongst others, it's clear WBD does not care who Tony presents on his show and has given him free reign to make these decisions

>Prior to the ROH acquisition, Tony did have interest in bringing them in since the beginning, but the belief is that The Young Bucks used their say as EVP to keep them out of the company. This is similar to Punk keeping Colt Cabana off TV during his tenure.

>Given all the big indie names that made one-off appearances on Dark/Elevation, it is odd the Briscoes never made an appearance on these shows, if they were only banned from TV. Non-AEW talent competing on the ROH PPVs often had a match or two on the Youtube shows as a warmup/showcase ahead of their matches.

>Tony kept the Jay Briscoe memoriam to a minimum this week on Dynamite in order to keep it all on the ROH Honour Club show filmed immediately afterwards, in an attempt to bolster subscriptions and interest in the brand.
